Metacognitive Cycles

There are two main Metacognitive Processes:

- Knowledge of Self; Knowledge of Task; Knowledge of Strategies

and

- Plan; Monitor; Evaluate

These are crucial stages for our learners to be going through in their day to day work, to support their academic and Metacognitive progress.

One way in which we can get students to continually use these cycles is by including them on PowerPoint slides, displays and worksheets. If students are constantly exposed to the two Metacognitive cycles, and teaching staff constantly make reference to them, students will go through these stages, which will know will improve their progress and attainment.

Download the two main cycles from above and include them on your worksheets and displays!

Help Our Cause

Running this site is incredibly expensive. I don't mind about the time it takes, but it does rather drain my pockets! Any donations towards the running costs would be much appreciated. We have kept all videos and resources free to ensure that they are accessible for all. Thank you.
